Family Promise of Butler County is an affiliate of Family Promise, Inc. which has been providing overnight lodging to children and families who are homeless throughout our nation since 1988. There are 203 networks in 42 states and more than 6,000 congregations and 160,000 volunteers involved in Family Promise programs. Together they help support more than 68,000 homeless family members annually, 60% of whom are children. The Mission of Family Promise of Butler County is “To help address the needs of children and families who are homeless in Butler County by providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services.”
The average age of a homeless person in the United States is 9 years old. Half the guests at Family Promise networks are children; most under six years of age. At the beginning of 2017, 775 children were homeless in Butler County schools; 433 in Hamilton, 108 in Lakota, 14 in Talawanda, 98 in Fairfield, 87 in Middletown, 21 in Monroe, 10 in Edgewood and 4 in Madison. As a community, we want to respond to this need.
So, in December of 2014, Family Promise of Butler County became its own 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It joins Warren County Interfaith Hospitality Network and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati to address family homelessness in Southwest Ohio. For further information or to contribute your time, talent or treasure, download our brochure or contact us at 19 Front Street, Hamilton OH, 45011 - Phone: 513-444-2033 -- firstname.lastname@example.org.
